About our logo, the Griffin

The griffin is a mythical creature, with the head, wings and talons of an eagle and the body and hind legs of a lion. As the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle the king of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. Griffins are normally known for guarding treasure and protecting homes. They symbolize strength and vigilance. They are sharp of eye and keen of ear. The griffin represents wisdom joined to fortitude, but wisdom is obliged to lead, and fortitude to follow. The qualities of a griffin include: intelligence, strength, vigilance, courage, faithfulness, nobility, gentleness, justice, virtue, valor and perseverance.

Spencer Properties chose the griffin to represent our firm because it is a part of the Spencer coat of arms and it symbolizes the same qualities we hope to incorporate into the way in which we serve our clients. We hope to be strong and vigilant in protecting their interests and their assets. We also strive to be knowledgeable, ethical, tenacious and loyal in every aspect of our business.
